Isuzu D-Max & Isuzu MU-X now meet the Euro 4 emissions standard

Isuzu makes a revolutionary change by using the Blue Power Technology engine for 20 vehicles including Isuzu D-Max and MU-X.

According to latest car news, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the company, Isuzu Philippines (IPC) marks this milestone by holding a formal gala and revealing 20 cars with new engines. Not out of the list, the Isuzu D-Max and the Isuzu MU-X boast to be equipped with the new engines which meet the Euro 4 emissions standard.

The new engines are dubbed as the Blue Power Technology which can supply maximum engine power, excellent fuel economy, cleaner emissions and engine longevity as well. What's more, all available Isuzu models in the Philippines will be fitted with this superb new technology engine.

Now, both the D-Max and the MU-X are run with the 4JJ1-TCX turbodiesel engine which can crank out 175 hp and dish out 380Nm. This is much better than the previous engines.

For the updated Isuzu MU-X, the car now works in conjunction with a 7-speed transmission for both its automatic and manual versions. Moreover, some convenient driver-support features are also improved including hill descent control, hill start assist and auto-leveling headlights. The model’s 8-inch screen entertainment system with USB port features text-to-speech navigation.

Except for the auto-leveling headlights, the face-lifted Isuzu D-Max also gets the same features with the MU-X. Additionally, the new D-Max model includes more USB ports which are very useful for those who usually forget to charge their devices.

Along with these noteworthy new features and the Blue Power Technology engine, the updated prices of the Isuzu D-Max and the Isuzu MU-X also promise to be a bump.

Mr. Hajime Koso, the President of IPC said that the company hopes and also believes that the Philippines will keep its role as a sponsor for the brand with the considerable changes they have presented.

Isuzu mu-X

The Isuzu mu-X Philippines 2023 is the Japanese marque's entry to the 7-seater midsize SUV based on its pickup truck sibling, the Isuzu D-Max. It is offered in five variants with a price that ranges from Php 1,650,000 to Php 2,505,000. For the Philippines market, the Isuzu-made SUV has two available engine options. The smaller one is a 1.9-liter RZ4E Bluepower turbodiesel capable of making up to 148 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. It can either come with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the larger engine option for the mu-X is a 3.0-liter inline-4 turbodiesel. At most, this mill can produce up to 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Only a six-speed automatic transmission is available with this engine.

Dimensions-wise, the mu-X is 4,850 mm long, 1,870 mm wide, and 1,825 mm high, with a wheelbase and ground clearance rated at 2,855 mm and 235 mm, respectively. Locally, this midsize SUV is competing against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Nissan Terra, and Mitsubishi Montero Sport.
