Honda Automobile Indonesia is launching something on May 3, 2021. All we know about this is that it's going to be a world premiere, which will be streamed on the Hondaisme official YouTube channel.
Now, as to what model it is, there are several possibilities. According to an Indonesian website autonetmagz, this new model is likely the all-new Honda BR-V. Remember that the said crossover model sold by Honda has not received a significant model change since its launch.
Sure, the Honda BR-V received a facelift in 2019, but the current model is already five years old. Moreover, it only makes sense that the new BR-V is launched in Indonesia since the first one made its debut there as well.
Mark your calendars folks
Another possible model would be the Honda Mobilio. As we have reported a year earlier, Honda was working on the said model and it is likely going to be larger.
This was revealed by Yusak Billy himself, the Business Innovation and Sales Marketing Director of Honda Prospect Motor, an Indonesia-based subsidiary partially owned by Honda Motor Co, Ltd.
Honda has also said that it was gathering feedback from current Honda Mobilio owners in Asia. It turned out that a lot of people were wanting a bigger Mobilio with more interior space.
As for possible engine choices, it is also highly likely that the new Honda MPV will be using the new Honda City’s 1.5-liter inline-4 engine.
Apart from these two popular MPVs, sources have also mentioned less likely Honda models. There’s the Honda ZR-V, which was registered by the Japanese marque a year ago. After that, no other developments were revealed regarding this.
Also, there’s the Honda WR-V, a five-seater subcompact crossover based on the old Honda Jazz GK that’s currently sold in India and South America.
Suffice to say, the WR-V is in a weird place right now with respect to Asia. The old Jazz was already replaced by the new City, so it wouldn’t make much sense to introduce a Jazz-based model now.

The all-new Honda model could most likely be the BR-V
To sum it up, what Honda Indonesia is launching on May 3 could likely be the all-new Honda BR-V or the new Mobilio. Regardless, we aren’t sure yet as the teaser photo isn’t revealing much. To this end, let's just wait for the launch.
