According to the latest car news, the all-new Accord is still built in the same platform as the Civic; however, it also houses Honda's innovative Hybrid Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) powertrain. This is the third iteration of this improved cross breed technology which boasts a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine working seamlessly with a dual motor hybrid system.

The Honda Accord 2019 also boasts the unique "Honda Sensing". This is a special and advanced safety program of collision mitigation braking system (CMBS), road departure moderation, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, lane keeping assistance, traffic signal recognition, cross traffic warning, lane watch, adaptive cruise control with low speed follow, and auto-high beam headlights. Security is of vital importance to Honda, and it is a basic expectation for this suite to be incorporated into its facelifted model.
