Ford Mustang GT 2018 receives new Performance Pack Level 2

With new package, the iconic sports car from Ford will be more powerful than ever.

So as to enhance the aerodynamics, stopping power and handling, Ford has determined to refresh its pony sports car Ford Mustang GT 2018 with the Performance Pack Level 2, which comes into all benefits from the Level 1 package but obtains more special extras.

"It will just beg you to go faster. The car has lightning-quick response and never gives up grip,” claimed Ford Supervisor for Vehicle Dynamics Development Jaime Cullen.

To start with, let’s have a glimpse at what the 2018 Mustang GT inherits from the Performance Pack Level 1:

  • Distinct stability and electronic power-assisted steering
  • Bigger radiator
  • Silver-painted strut tower brace
  • Torsen rear differential with 3.73 axle ratio
  • 6-piston Brembo front brake calipers with massive diameter rotors

With the Level 2 pack, the new Mustang GT is redesigned with a sportier and more aggressive look with a lower stance, a hard rear spoiler and especially, a high-performance front splitter which can create up to 10 kg of downforce at a high speed of 128 km/h.

Special 19-inch aluminum wheels wrapped by 305/30/R19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires​

Thanks to special 19-inch aluminum wheels wrapped by 305/30/R19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, the Blue Oval undertakes that the new Mustang will truly provide better steering response and sharper handling beside the help of revised MagneRide dampers. Ford also says that these dampers can make the front and rear stabilizer bars more rigid by 12 and 67%, consequently, the rear and front springs will be 13 and 20% stiffer, respectively when likened to the Level 1.
