Ford’s nine-year-old current-gen Ranger to get an updated design again.

The current Ford Ranger available in the market today first made its official debut nine years ago. Yes, the current-generation Ranger has been around since 2011, and Ford has yet to introduce its all-new successor.

However, it seems that Ford wants to max out the lifespan of the current Ranger as it released a teaser video announcing the debut of yet another facelifted version of its nine-year-old midsize pickup truck.

LIVE: NEW FORD RANGER 5

The facelifted 2021 Ranger will be launched in Thailand tomorrow, November 5. The teaser video is short but it gives significant hints in regards to the facelifted Ranger.

The video showed a glimpse of three different Ranger trims. The teaser previewed a gray-colored Ranger as well as an orange one, the latter could hint at the exterior look of the updated Wildtrak.

While the images are not that clear as of this writing, you can tell that the 2021 Ford Ranger comes with a revamped grille and a restyled bumper. Looking at it closely, the grille of the facelifted Ranger shares a bit of similarity to the one fitted in the Ranger FX4.

On the other hand, the teaser video also flashed a white-colored Ranger that looks quite different from the pack. Well, it has the same design updates seen on other Rangers, but it comes with a sporty design as well as red trims on the grille.

You can also see that it has Mustang-like racing stripes decals. Moreover, this Ranger could come with a single cab configuration based on the teaser video.

In terms of powertrain details, the facelifted 2021 Ford Ranger could have the same power unit options. With that, we can expect that it will still come available with either a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine that delivers 210 hp and 500 Nm of torque; or a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine that puts out 178 hp and 420 Nm; or a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine that generates 158 hp and 385 Nm.

Interestingly, the debut of the facelifted Ford Ranger coincides with the global launch of the 2021 Nissan Navara. The Japanse automaker confirmed last October 27 that the 2021 Nissan Navara will be officially out tomorrow, November 5.

In addition, does the facelifted Ranger mean that Everest will also be getting a new front end? This idea is highly probable since the Ranger and the Everest have the same platform. Moreover, a design update for Everest is a good idea since Toyota have launched the new Fortuner.
