Though the 2018 Ford F-150 is offered with a diesel engine option and Chevy is preparing a diesel for Colorado, it’s highly likely that the pickup truck will use at least one EcoBoost gasoline variant. Accordingly, a more powerful engine of the company’s 2.5-liter naturally aspirated I-4 could be taken into consideration. In the Fusion, this engine churns out 175 hp and 237 Nm of peak torque.

There is also a strong possibility that a 3.3-liter V6 engine would be also offered, capable of dishing out 290 hp and 358 Nm in the 2018 F-150. The third engine option would include a 310hp/434 Nm 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo-four from the Ford Mustang, a Ford’s 2.7-liter EcoBoost turbo-six or a diesel version.
