“The new Nissan Terra is a smart and reliable family SUV that gives you and your loved ones confidence, comfort, control, safety, and peace of mind. We took the well-known all-terrain toughness and capabilities from Nissan’s 70 years of SUV heritage, and added the latest technologies, to turn the new Terra into the perfect partner for sharing experiences with your family and loved ones,” says NPI President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima.

From the looks of it, the 2022 Nissan Terra is ready to square up with its rivals in the midsize SUV segment. In case you’re wondering, the Nissan Terra goes up against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, Isuzu mu-X, Ford Everest, among others.

Exterior

The exterior of the 2022 Nissan Terra is refined, and it now comes with a more assertive demeanor as compared to the outgoing model. The front end is where you’ll see the most drastic changes to Nissan’s midsize SUV. It looks bolder yet smoother than the old version.

The fascia of the 2022 Terra shares a bit of similarity with the new Nissan Navara as seen on the quad LED headlights, and the sharp-looking LED daytime running lights. The bolder and more assertive demeanor is further highlighted by the larger V-Motion grille, restyled bumper, and beefier skid plate.

The Terra gets a new set of 18-inch wheels

Turning at the side, the new Terra didn’t change that much. The most significant design change you can spot on the side is the Terra’s new 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, which come with a sharper look as compared to the old model. Another thing is that the Nissan Terra now comes with disc brakes on all four wheels.

The rear is fitted with restyled LED taillights that have a sleeker finish. You’ll also notice that the Terra comes with distinctive chrome trim as well as an updated spoiler, a new sharkfin antenna, and a revamped bumper. The bumper is integrated with a silver garnish for that added rugged appeal.

Interior

Aside from drastically changing the Terra’s fascia, Nissan also put emphasis on making the vehicle’s interior more refined. It now comes with a more straightforward dashboard layout, which looks cleaner, and gives off a more premium-like feel.

The Terra has a more refined interior

The 2022 Nissan Terra comes with a neat and well-arranged dashboard that looks better as compared to the old V-shaped theme. The two-tone interior theme (black and burgundy red leather) of the Terra VL trims add to the better-looking cabin. The VL trims also get an 11-inch Flip-Down rear monitor for added in-car entertainment. The new Nissan Terra also features a new D-shaped steering wheel. The Terra also comes with a new instrument cluster design, which makes the vehicle look more modern as compared to the outgoing version.

Of note, the Terra gets Zero Gravity front seats that are claimed to alleviate fatigue for drivers and passengers by offering the ideal seating position. The second-row seats, on the other hand, feature a one-touch tumble-down feature that provides easy access to the third row.

Tech & Safety

The 2022 Terra is equipped with updated technology and safety features highlighted by the Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM). The NIM includes features such as Emergency Braking, Driver Alertness, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Around View Monitor, and Intelligent Rear View Mirror.

Speed-sensing door locks come as standard across all 2022 Terra variants. And oh, the top-of-the-line Terra VL 4x4 AT has a rear differential lock.
