Hyundai Accent 2019 finally hits the Philippine showrooms

The Philippines is proudly the first country in ASEAN to welcome the all-new Hyundai Accent 2019.

It’s exciting news indeed for the Hyundai lovers that Hyundai Accent 2019 has officially been launched in the Philippines. After long time being jealous with Western markets, Filipinos are enthusiastic to have chances in experiencing the new pickup firstly among ASEAN regions.

It is seen from the picture that the PH 2019 Accent apparently resembles the one introduced in Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show last month. Specifically, it adjusts new styling as smaller variant of its brother “the Elantra” with narrower headlamps and taillamps as well as 10-mm reduced clearance ground, adding an updated Y-shaped grill.

Looking from the sides to the rears, the doors are highlighted with a noticeable line. In addition to the wraparound taillamps and the curved bumper, the rear also features a roofline onto the cargo.

Stepping inside the cabin, subtle changes are applied for the outgoing model. The Accent 2019 shares the same console center layout with the Elantra’s T-bar arrangement. 3.8-inch radio with USB plug is now set higher and so as to the air-conditioning systems. Next to the infotainment screen, the steering wheel is more thickly covered.

The new Accent is introduced with two engine choices. The first popular 1.4-l diesel engine is reported to be applicable both automatically and manually, bringing the power 100 PS and 132 Nm peak of torque. Meanwhile, the other option is the 1.6-l CRDI that makes 128 hp and 260 Nm of torque.

Hyundai Accent

The Hyundai Accent is the Korean marque's entry to the competitive subcompact sedan category. It is available in six variants and the Hyundai Accent 2023 Philippines price that ranges from Php 790,000 to Php 1,038,000. Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) offers this model with two engine options consisting of gasoline and diesel mills. Lower-end variants use a 1.4-liter Kappa MPI Dual CVVT gasoline engine that makes 99 hp and 132 Nm of torque, while higher-end variants are equipped with a 1.6-liter CRDi turbodiesel engine that delivers 126 hp and 260 Nm of torque. As for the transmission, the engines can be connected to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Moving to the dimensions, the Accent spans 4,440 mm in length, 1,729 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height, with a wheelbase rated at 2,600 mm. In the Philippines, this Korean sedan is competing against the likes of the Toyota Vios, Honda City, and Nissan Almera
