Recently, Maruti Suzuki updated the Suzuki Swift hatchback for the Indian market by giving it an updated SmartPlay Studio infotainment system.
To follow that up, the aforementioned car manufacturer then updated the Suzuki Ertiga with the same version of the infotainment system.
With this update, it seems that Suzuki is slowing making their cars more high tech
What can it do?
Aboard the Suzuki Ertiga, the new system now includes Apple CarPlay and Android Connectivity options, but also a way for a car owner to access it through a smartphone. This feature, however, is only available on the top-of-the-line Ertiga called the ZXi+.

This makes it more convenient in terms of accessibility as well as providing crucial vehicle alerts to the palm of your hand.
And yes, the new system also connects the infotainment system to the cloud (presumably a Suzuki owned cloud server) providing it with more useful features.

Does this come with the Philippine-spec Ertiga?
If you remember, Suzuki Philippines updated the locally available 2020 Suzuki Ertiga GLX and the GA. The SmartPlay Studio update, however, did not come with the updated top of the line Ertiga GLX.
With regards to this, we’re predicting that it’ll be coming aboard the GLX sometime around the last quarter of this year, or even next year. As for an official statement from Suzuki Philippines with regards to this exciting update, we’ll just have to wait.
The Smartplay Studio App is available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store

Other Maruti Suzuki Ertiga updates
In other Ertiga related news, Maruti Suzuki also dropped the diesel variants of the Ertiga. Like us here in the Philippines, the only available variants of the Ertiga are only available with the 1.5-liter K15B gasoline engine.
This decision was made due to the new Indian BS6 emission standards that came into effect this April 1, 2020.
