Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2020: Philkotse’s best mid-size SUV of the year!
Since its first generation, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport has been a best seller here in the Philippines. And despite several controversies (which we highly think lacks merit), the said Mitsubishi model throughout its entire lifetime, from the humble 1st-generation to the macho and graceful third generation is an excellent vehicle that perfectly embodies the best of what Mitsubishi has to offer.
Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2020: Easily the most striking mid-size SUV you can buy right now
Yes the Toyota Fortuner is sleek and elegant looking, yes the Nissan Terra is brusque and has the classic looks of the quintessential SUV, yes the Isuzu MU-X is deliciously rugged but the Mitsubishi Montero Sport though has just the right balance of high-tech features, hyper-modern looks, and sleekness that’ll make it suitable just about everywhere you go.
Just like the guy who's versatile enough to fit in black-tie occasions while able to thrive in the outdoors

Think of the Montero Sport like Chukka boots which like the aforementioned SUV can still duke it out in rough and tough situations and with a little cleaning can still fit in neatly with a more relaxed, elegant occasion.
This point, of course, is much truer with the facelifted third-generation 2020 models. The dynamic shield is much more modern looking with sharper corners, and the look of the entire front is much more balanced because of the more effective use of its space.
Just like the exterior, the interior is elegant, comfortable, and durable
Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2020: Still the best handling mid-size SUV in the Philippine market
Like the pre-facelift Montero Sport and the 2nd-generation ones, the current Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2020 is an SUV that you’ll want to buy if you want to have fun on twisty roads.
Why? Well…this mid-size SUV, despite its tall ride height, has minimal body roll in comparison to similarly-sized and priced models available in the Philippines right now.
Some people who have driven many different SUVs all their lives are even saying that this mid-size model from Mitsubishi is the one that’s closest to sedans when it comes to handling.
The Montero Sport, up to this current generation, is still one of the better handling mid-size SUVs available in the market
So if its exterior isn’t much to your liking, do give it a spirited test drive. You might change your mind!

Know more about Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2021
One of the most known SUVs in the Philippines is the Mitsubishi Montero Sport. It continually hits the list of best-selling cars in the country every year. Its popularity continues to grow because it is a reliable, tough, midsize body-on-frame SUV on and off-road, and a family car. It is not just a symbol of social status. The Mitsubishi Montero Sport, as a third-generation model, displays its benchmark for the brand's contemporary lineup, which is the 'Dynamic Shield' grille that shows a completely redesigned front. The new Mitsubishi Montero Sport features chrome linings that cover the large air intakes and stretch forth to the fog lamps, complemented by a sleek tail and headlights. Inside the cabin, top-notch variants and additional sportier trims for GT variants get to have leather-wrapped seats. For entertainment and central control, it is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Powering the Mitsubishi Montero Sport is the all-new 2.4L Diesel Engine, 4 Cylinder 16 Valve DOHC. The task of the Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-timing Electronic Control system (MIVEC) is to achieve low fuel consumption and exhaust emissions but a high-power output. Similar to the model it replaced, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport is L200 or Strada pickup based. The chassis and half of its front body structure are the same as its pickup sibling. It still uses the three-link live axle coil spring for the rear suspension and the independent double-wishbone front suspension from the model it supersedes. It comes with drum-in-disc rear brakes and ventilated front disc brakes. It is a standard for all variants to have 18-inch alloy wheels. The Mitsubishi Montero Sport features standard airbags for both driver and passenger, three-point seat belts for all the seven occupants, ABS with EBD, and an ISOFIX child seat anchors on the second row. Additional features for the GT variant consist of Trailer Stability Assist, knee airbag for drivers, and curtain airbags.
