Last month, some spy shots of the Kia Sportage 2019 facelift surfaced, hinting that the compact SUV will receive a number of tweaks on the outside though not too significant. And now, thanks to the Motorgraph – a Korean automotive magazine, we have chances to take a closer look at the revised Sportage as it was spied again in South Korea while stopping for a refuel.

Although the refreshed Kia Sportage 2019 was caught wearing heavy camouflage, we can still point out some visible styling changes in terms of its exterior such as:
- Lower apron with bigger air intake and new fog lights;
- Redesigned ‘tiger nose’ grille;
- New set of head lights featuring the same 4-point daytime running lights found in the latest Kia Ceed and Kia Forte.
Moving on to the rear, the cladding cannot hide new LED tail lamps underneath and refreshed bumper.

Just like the set of spy images unveiled in February, we have yet to preview the Kia Sportage 2019 interior this time either. However, it is said that the Korean automaker will offer the revamped Sportage with more premium materials, improved trim levels, and updated infotainment system so as to keep the compact SUV up-to-date with its siblings.

As for the powertrain, the upcoming SUV is likely powered by possible options including a naturally-aspirated and turbo petrol-fed engines displacing 1.6, 2.0 and 2.4 litres and 1.7 and 2.0L turbodiesels. These powerplants will still be mated to 6-speed automatic and manual, as well as 7-speed dual-clutch gearboxes.

The Kia Sportage 2023 Philippines is a 5-seater compact crossover that is competing in the local market in its fourth-generation version. It is still unclear as to when will the fifth-gen arrive on our shores. In the local market, its sole available variant is the GT-line, which is priced at Php 1,820,000. Under the hood, the Sportage GT-Line uses a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine good for 182 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The said engine is then an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
In terms of dimensions, the Sportage is 4,480 mm long, 1,855 mm wide, and 1,655 mm. It also comes with a wheelbase and ground clearance rated at 2,670 mm and 172 mm, respectively. In the local market, the Korean compact crossover goes up against the likes of the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Subaru Forester.
