Recently, detailed specifications of the facelifted Ford EcoSport 2018 for Indian market have been revealed. According to latest car news, the refreshed compact SUV will carry over a host of cosmetic changes on both in- and outside as well as receiving new powertrains.

Let’s start with the hardware. As confirmed, the current 100-hp 1.5-liter diesel engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission will continue propel the EcoSport 2018. Furthermore, a new petrol mill coupled with a 5-speed manual will likewise be available yet will come with a 6-speed automatic gearbox as an option. We’re still waiting for the confirmation of the 1.0-liter Ecoboost turbo petrol engine.
As to exterior, the Ford EcoSport is revised with new front grille bordered by projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, new color options (red and blue) along with new set of 17-inch alloy wheels. New upholstery, 3-spoke steering wheel with audio controls, dual USB ports and automatic climate control are also offered.

In terms of safety, the entry-level model will be furnished with ABS with EBD and dual airbags. The middle-spec petrol-automatic variant will get more: Hill Start Assist, traction control, ESC and paddle shifters. Inheriting all of those features, the top-spec will be added with Isofix child seat in addition to side and curtain airbags.
The Ford EcoSport 2018 will arrive in India on November 9. Not until that time will the official prices be announced. However, it is estimated that the prices will range from Rs 7.21 lakh to Rs 10.92 lakh.
The Blue Oval says that the localization of the new SUV has increased from 65% to 80% while the ownership costs with spare parts are 40% cheaper than other contenders in the same segment.
