Safe trips are always the fun ones.

Ford Philippines acknowledged that roads will be busier especially now that the National Capital Region (NCR) has been placed under Alert Level 1. As such, the company wanted to share four tips that you can take into account before heading out for a road trip.

Ford Philippines maintenance tips

Maintenance is one of the most important factors in car ownership

With the tips, you can reach their destinations without running into mechanical failures or a road incident, which makes road trips more fun. So without further ado, here are Ford Philippines’ four tips:

1. Prepare your vehicles

The first tip is to prepare your vehicle to ensure that it is in good condition for the road. Ford Philippines said to check the oil, coolant, and windscreen wiper fluid levels. Try to inspect for cracks or chips on the windshield, as well as wear on your vehicle’s tires.

To easily remember what you need to inspect, keep in mind the mnemonic BLOWBAGETS. It stands for battery, lights, oil, water, brake, air, gas, engine, tire, and self. Your vehicle could be sitting in a garage for a long time due to the quarantine restrictions so a quick inspection should keep you safe on the go.

2. Get your vehicle checked

As said earlier, the lockdowns caused people to stay at home which left vehicles unused for some time. Ford Philippines encourages you to have your vehicle checked to ensure that it delivers the desired performance.

At Ford dealerships, you will receive a Vehicle Report Card (VRC) after a scheduled service. It provides a comprehensive health check summary of your car’s key wear and tears parts and system.

3. Leave vehicle service to the experts

Ford Philippines is aware that you can save on having your car serviced outside of its authorized service centers. However, the company is also warning you that the service might not hold up for a very long time. If you will go on a road trip with your family, it is still best that you consider the safest option.

With that being said, leaving your vehicle to expert Ford technicians can ensure that the recommended maintenance from the manufacturer is conducted. You can expect quality service and the use of genuine Ford parts.

4. Assess the condition of wear and tear parts during every service

The fourth and last tip is to have your vehicle’s wear and tear parts be checked and replaced. Ford Philippines is offering Ranger, EcoSport, Everest, Focus, and Fiesta owners an all-in battery-package at a promotional price of Php 6,300.

Owners of the Everest and Ranger with models between 2015 to 2021 can avail of the Motorcraft micronAir proTect Cabin Filter. It is a premium cabin filter that can protect you and your passengers against inactivating viruses such as Swine Flu (H1N1) and HCov-229E.

“Taking the time to care for your vehicle goes a long way in ensuring a worry-free ownership experience, especially with the return of mobility in the new normal. Our service offerings are designed to keep our customers safe as they go back on the road,” said Ford Customer Service Division Director Patrick Manigbas.
