Ford PH to kick off its Global Caring Month in September

Ford PH celebrates its corporate social commitment via its Global Caring Month.

September is an annual occasion for thousands of Ford staffs worldwide to venture out into their residential areas to change and improve folk’s lives for the better. Case in point, the Ford Philippines (Ford PH) is one again ushering its community services in our country.

The event is considered Ford’ own method for giving back to its customers the achievement and happiness it has achieved in the auto sector. It’s basically a corporate social responsibility activity that is run by Ford’s whole crew called the Ford Volunteer Corps.

Ford PH has teamed up with Gawad Kalinga to move forward its community services. Some of these programs include delivery of medical and dental services in Muntinlupa, building communal water facilities in Batangas and Nueva Ecija, and house painting in Cavite.

According to Josephine Gonzalez, AVP, Government and Corporate affairs, Ford Philippines, the company is proud to undertake the Ford Global Caring Month as part of its corporate social commitment to make people’s lives better. Ford’s entire workforce is always willing to lend a helping hand through its community improvement projects in villages, towns, cites across the country.

Taking flight in 2005, this signature annual event has benefited millions of people in 50 countries for an outstanding of over 1 million hours of community service. During September, Ford staffs will roll up their sleeves to carry out more than 600 projects on 6 continents.

According to Jim Vella, President of Ford Motor Company Fund, its community services would include providing cleaning water, feeding the hungry, repairing schools and shelters. All these activities are aimed to build better homes and make our communities stronger.

Ford Fund has also pledged US $600,000 (P30,000,000) in grants for many of the volunteer projects. This fund would be spent on purchasing the necessary supplies and tools for the 2017 Global volunteer projects. Ford Volunteer Corps activity is the heart of a global network enlisting over 30,000 Ford employees yearly to take part in corporate social responsibility activities. 

When you think of Ford Philippines, the three top-selling models that spring to mind are the Ford Everest, Ford EcoSport and the midsize pickup Ford Ranger. The huge popularity and great appeal of the 3 Ford vehicles are continuing to drive the brand's momentum in 2017.
