Save on gas money with this small crossover.

Fuel efficiency is one of the most sought-after car characteristics buyers are looking for. On that note, Changan Motor Philippines, Inc. (CMPI) reminds buyers that it is catering to this demand with its entry into the subcompact crossover market, the CS35 Plus.

To prove the Changan CS35 Plus' fuel-efficient powertrain, CMPI partnered with the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) to put the crossover through a fuel eco test run last year. The vehicle was driven in the city and on the highway, particularly along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).

After the fuel eco test run, the CS35 Plus managed to return 15.25 km/l for city driving. Meanwhile, the crossover registered an impressive 21.495 km/l on the highway.

During AAP's fuel eco run, the vehicle was tested under realistic driving circumstances. To simulate these conditions, its air-conditioning was set to a medium cool setting, while its radio was either not used, set on low volume, or was put on mute. It also carried two passengers and no extra baggage during the test. And of course, the test was commenced while following speed limits and traffic regulations.

From our tests for the CS35 Plus here at Philkotse, we got 8.2 km/l in the city while driving at an average speed of 10 to 15 km/h. As for the highway drive, we clocked 15.5 km/l at an average speed of 90 km/h. The vehicle was carrying one occupant only during the time of our test.

Note that these impressive fuel efficiency numbers were achieved by the CS35 Plus’ 1.4-liter turbocharged engine capable of generating 156 horsepower and 234 Nm of torque. As standard, the engine is connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) with a Sport Mode.

CMPI is offering the Changan CS35 Plus with a price that ranges from Php 1,039,000 for the entry-level Lite variant to Php 1,209,000 for the flagship Luxe variant.

The CS35 Plus also comes with Changan’s Vital 5 after-sales program, offering a 5-year or 150,000 km warranty, the Changan Pacesetter roadside assistance and towing service, and a 60-minute service guarantee with free preventive maintenance service (PMS) labor for the first year or 20,000 km (whichever comes first).

Via its demonstrated fuel efficiency, the CS35 Plus can take you long distances without breaking the bank on gas money.
