2. DIY dents removal: Fact or fiction?
There are tons of DIY tutorial circulating on the internet most especially on YouTube. Where is it is very easy to follow. Of course, do it yourself is way cheaper than getting a professional do it. But is it worth it or are they a FACT or FICTION?
With a hairdryer?
You need the following;
- Hairdryer
- Heavy-duty gloves with rubber coating
- Compressed air
Step 1: you need to heat the dent with a hairdryer, hold it between five to seven inches away from the dent or your car.
Step 2: using the gloves, check the malleability of the metal after two minutes. If you feel a movement when you touched it continue to the last step.
Step 3: spray the dents with compressed air. Continue to spray until the metal on the dented area pop out and back to its original shape and appearance.

- Insulated gloves
- 109.3 degrees Fahrenheit of dry ice
- Heating tool
Step 1: Apply heat on the surface of the dent as hot as you can.
Step 2: Wear your insulated gloves when holding the dry ice and don't let it touch you if you don't want to get frostbitten fingers.
Step 3: Put the dry ice in the middle of the dent and rub the area with dry ice. Hold it approximately 15 minutes or longer.
FICTION! You might see improvements but the environment of the location where you are trying to repair your car will likely make the dent appear again.
Using Boiling Water and a Plunger to Remove Car Dents - Does it Work?
