Last year's Chevrolet Spark sales dropped dramatically by 36% in the US.

In spite of an attempt to introduce a restyled generation of Chevrolet Spark 2019, it seems the strategy won’t come fruitful and this model may die. This is what Reuters says about the future of this affordable city hatchback.

In fact, last year Spark sales dropped dramatically by 36% in the US, which already foretold a possible exit of the brand from producing the next Spark hatchback. According to the latest car news, General Motors’ unit in South Korea said they already bear in mind the feasible turn to a Small SUV in 2022 instead of continuing assembling the Spark-like at the moment.

Experiencing the same disappointing sales record, GM’s European unit also adds up to the comedown of the Spark.

The Chevrolet Spark 2019 earns a redesigned face that resembles others in the Chevrolet lineup. In addition, the new model comes with novel dual-element taillights in the rear while gaining a stronger face in the front.

Speaking of the engine, the model is powered by a 1.4-liter DOHC four-cylinder channeled to a CVT or manual transmission.

The safety system gets an upgrade with a low-speed forwards auto brake, camera-equipped rear parking, and 10 airbags.

The Chevrolet Spark was initially launched as Daewoo Matiz in 1998. It has been produced since then but never really considered a good car, including the Daewoo Matiz 2012 for sale in the Philippines.
