Jaguar’s first all-electric car is now available in the country.

The award-winning 2020 Jaguar I-Pace all-electric vehicle has officially made its debut in the Philippine market. The I-Pace is Jaguar’s first all-electric vehicle that was initially introduced as a concept car during the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show.

The I-Pace crossover SUV took off instantly when its production version came out, and it managed to score a hat trick at the 2019 World Car Awards as it clinched the title as the World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year, and World Green Car. Jaguar sure knows how to make a statement.

The award-winning Jaguar I-Pace is what the Philippine market is getting. It has two electric motors that’s powered by a 90 kW lithium ion high-voltage battery, which can put out 395 hp and 696 Nm of torque. Jaguar also shared that this all-electric vehicle comes with a 50:50 weight distribution thanks primarily to the I-Pace’s rigid body structure.

The 2020 Jaguar I-Pace has a sleek, coupe-like silhouette that gives the vehicle a sporty stance. It comes with sharp-looking headlights, an aggressive bumper, and a large grille. Speaking of the grille, Jaguar says the front grille is integrated with Active Vanes technology, which opens the grille when cooling is required, and closes when air needs to be redirected for better aerodynamics.

Moving on to its side, the I-Pace is characterized by distinctive lines, which contributes to the vehicle’s overall coupe-like silhouette. You also can’t help but notice the stylish wheels of the Jaguar I-Pace. The rear, on the other hand, is fitted with slim taillights, as well as a roof spoiler.

The interior features an unmistakable premium theme, especially when you look at the dashboard and the center console. In addition, Jaguar says the I-Pace has a tablet and laptop compartment at the rear, found beneath the seats. It also comes with a 11 kW on-board charger, as well as a Pivi Pro infotainment system.

As mentioned earlier, the Jaguar I-Pace is equipped with two electric motors powered by a 90 kW kW lithium ion battery that delivers 395 hp and 696 Nm of torque. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, and has a maximum range of up to 470 km, according to Jaguar. The I-Pace also features regenerative braking which allows it to harness energy during deceleration.

Charging the I-Pace’s battery from zero to full would take around 12 hours and 48 minutes using the 7 kW wall-mounted charger that’s included when you purchase the I-Pace. Of note, installation costs for the said charger are still not included and it may vary per household.

Jaguar PH says its supplier will be evaluating interested households if their homes are qualified for a charger before purchasing an I-Pace. During the press conference, Coventry Motors Corp. President Chris Ward says the I-Pace can run for about two weeks before it needs to be charged again.

The 2020 Jaguar I-Pace is now available with a sticker price of Php 7,590,000. The company added that clients may also purchase an additional charger for their second homes or offices, which costs Php 105,000 (installation not included).

The logic behind getting an additional charger is to be able to charge your I-Pace once you reach your second home that’s located for example outside of Metro Manila since there are few to none electric charging stations yet in the country.

The Jaguar I-Pace was launched in the Philippines alongside the 2020 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport PHEV
