2017 Mazda 2 GVC available for sale in Malaysia from P1.04 million

Mazda has made a big change for the better.

If the G-Vectoring Control (GVC) technology of Mazda has been applied in the Mazda 3, Mazda 6 and CX-3, the 2 model finally gets it in Malaysian market. Apart from this latest technology, the new Mazda 2 also comes with a wide range of updates. Particularly, the prices are unaltered: RM87,586.30 (P1.04 million) for the base model.

In terms of exterior, the Mazda 2 receives slight changes

In terms of exterior, the Mazda 2 receives slight changes. While the predecessor is equipped with LED headlights, the latter features the base halogen units. As an option, it will set you back RM92,886.30 (P1.1 million) if you want the LED headlight.

The fog lamps get smaller with new chrome trim finisher. Other changes take place in the grille blades, wing mirrors and roof-mounted antenna as well. Besides, a new color option named Deep Crimson Mica is also added to the existing palette.

Getting inside, the cabin will dazzle you with numerous changes and updates, giving the hatchback a modern appearance. The most striking feature is the steering wheel from the brand’s newest range. The old red contrast stitching and other red accents on the seats have been replaced by the white ones and a more subdued five-stripe band.

Not only that, seat upholstery is also upgraded with new suede sections. Similar to the facelifted 3, the seat backs, door cards, padded dash panel and the center console are currently finished in maroon. The MZD Connect touchscreen and window switch look more luxurious with a gloss black surrounds. In the meantime, the circular air-conditioning vents are more stunning with rose gold finish.

Powertrain-wise, a 1.5 Skyactiv-G petrol engine with 114 hp and 148 Nm is the sole choice. Thanks to the GVC setup, power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
