Volvo’s ergonomic seats get endorsement from chiropractic group

Needless to say, Volvo is deemed one of the top-tier car brands in the field of safety. But that’s not all Volvo looks to innovate as the Swedish automaker is investing in making seats more comfortable. So much so that it received an endorsement from the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) for its ergonomically-designed seats.

Comfortable yet still safe

An ACA endorsement is given to products of the highest quality after an extensive review and testing by a review board of Doctors Chiropractic. With the endorsement, granted to models in May 2022 through May 2023, Volvo can testify that its models are capable of providing excellent ride comfort, which is important, especially on long road trips or in heavy traffic situations.

“Seats are designed by Volvo Cars ensure drivers and passengers never have to sacrifice comfort, design, or safety when on the road,” said Volvo Car USA Head of Product and Technology Consumer Offer, Jim Nicols.

Volvo is the only automaker to bag this accolade as of this writing. The seat comfort is said to make driving a Volvo feel like a “true Scandinavian sanctuary.” Moreover, the seats come with a ventilated climate control to cool down on a hot day, as well as a massage function which helps reduce driver fatigue on the go.

Volvo develops its seats to be as comfortable as possible

As a brand that has cemented its reputation in safety, every seat in a Volvo is integrated with Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS), Side Impact Protection System (SIPS), and Run Off-Road Mitigation. The head restraints are also designed to provide increased whiplash protection.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized by the American Chiropractic Association with an endorsement that reaffirms our industry-leading approach,” added Nicols.

Not only is Volvo making its seats more comfortable but also sustainable. The automaker announced that its fully electric models will use leather-free materials, which we will get to see more in the future as the company will have an electric future by 2030.
