Volvo has just released more details of its upcoming EX30 electric SUV. Specifically, it released pictures of the vehicle’s interior, showing a minimalist design mostly made of renewable materials.
A sneak peek of the Volvo EX30's interior
Before showing off the interior, the only glimpses we’ve had of the Volvo EX30 were from a teaser and a report detailing its safety tech. However, this new revelation from the Swedish car maker might give us more insights into how this new car will look.
Starting with its dash, it's virtually clutter-less. The passenger side appears to be a slightly curved surface which then holds a vertically-oriented touchscreen headunit at its center. Below the dash is a lip of sorts giving it a multi-tiered look.
The topmost portion nearest to the windshield meanwhile, is a curved bar that looks seamlessly integrated with the A-pillars to form a frame. This portion is actually a sound bar which the brand says was inspired by home audio design. Buyers of the EX30 can then pair the latter with a Harman Kardon sound system for the best audio quality.
The upcoming Volvo EX30
While the dashboard as a whole looks clean, Volvo did say that it still gets several storage bins. For starters, a glove box was placed under the central touchscreen. A bit unusual, but the brand says this allows both the driver and front passenger to easily access the said storage space.
The center console itself can also be configured via slide function. Via this, it can hold a multitude of things ranging from a smartphone to a cup of coffee. Other items can then be stored under a lower tunnel.
Speaking of the touchscreen, the brand didn’t share its exact size. Volvo did share that it now gets a Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, so we can assume that it has its own central processing unit (CPU). As hinted by its name, this might be leveraging the same technologies as the Snapdragon CPU found on the Samsung S22 line of smartphones.

Apart from that, the touchscreen also gets Google Assistant for hands-free functionality, Google Maps, and wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity. When available, the headunit can also connect to 5G networks.
Last, but not the least, the EX30’s interior can also be customized using a variety of environmentally friendly products. This includes textiles made out of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, recycled polyester, flax fiber, etc.
Note that the Volvo EX30 will see its debut on June 7, 2023. So if you want to learn more about this upcoming model, keep it here on Philkotse.
