Suzuki S-Presso standard trim can now come in Pearl Starry Blue color

For the 2023 model year, the Suzuki S-Presso's entry-level GL trim has received a new color option. Specifically, it may now come in Pearl Starry Blue.

With the addition of the said color, the S-Presso GL may now come in four different color choices. The other three include Metallic Granite, Fire Red, and Sizzle Orange.

If the Pearl Starry Blue color sounds familiar, remember that this option was once exclusive to the S-Presso GL MT Special Edition (SE) variant.    

Another thing to note about the S-Presso GL MT is that it is no longer fitted with 14-inch steel wheels. Instead, it now rides on a set of 14-inch alloy wheels, just like the top-spec S-Presso GL Special Edition MT variant.  

So with the aforementioned updates provided for the standard GL, wouldn’t it steal some thunder from the top-spec GL SE? Well, do remember that the latter still gets a bit more in terms of exterior styling than the entry-level GL. To be more exact, it gets additional cosmetic trims like a side fender garnish, grille garnish, front bumper silver trims, as well as a faux skid plate.

The GL SE also gets a beefier, more SUV-like look thanks to the presence of black plastic claddings on its wheel arches and on the lower parts of its doors. Moreover, the S-Presso SE gets silver accents on its interior.  

The regular GL MT meanwhile, gets a far simpler-looking front and rear bumper, and it lacks black plastic claddings on the side. It isn’t as “tough-looking” as the GL SE MT, but one can say that it looks a bit sleeker.  

As for powertrains, both the GL and GL SE retain the same 1.0-liter inline-3 engine that it had since their initial launch dates. The aforementioned three-banger can still make 67 horsepower and 90 Nm of torque, and the only available gearbox for both trims is a five-speed manual transmission. 

Both trims also retain a seven-inch multimedia audio headunit with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, an analog gauge cluster, manual air-conditioning, and fabric seats.

Safety on both S-Presso trims is then handled by dual-front airbags, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, as well as anti-lock braking.  

If the S-Presso GL MT has caught your eye, be glad to know that it comes with a price tag of Php 563,000. The top-spec S-Presso GL SE comes with a slightly more expensive Php 588,000 price tag.
