Suzuki Carry is the official transport of Pepsi products in the Philippines

Suzuki Auto UN and Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI) celebrated the turnover of the first batch of All-New Carry units last August 27. The ceremony was held in PCPPI’s head office in Tunasan, Muntinlupa.

The turnover ceremony was attended by the representatives of Suzuki Auto UN that includes dealer principal EVP Williard Keng, general manager Robert Bautista, and its fleet manager Edgar Santiago.

On the other hand, PCPPI’s representatives included PCPPI senior general manager, Luzon 1, Alvin M. Valencia, joined by senior manager for sales information and systems, Ryan P. Mariano, and national fleet senior manager John Albert Ayro.

Suzuki shall distribute a total of 105 Carry units to PCPPI, in which 21 of them were already turned over and are to be utilized as PCPPI’s delivery vehicle.

Powering the all-new Carry is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder K15B gasoline engine capable of making 95 hp at 5,600 rpm and 135 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. It has a payload capacity rated at 940 kg and has a cargo bed space of 2,565 mm x 1,660 mm x 355 mm.

Suzuki Philippines is offering two variants of the Carry, namely the Cab and Chassis 1.5L, and Truck 1.5L. The Carry Cab and Chassis 1.5L is priced at Php 499,000 while the Carry Truck 1.5L is priced at Php 509,000. Suzuki said that it welcomes all customer customization requirements.

Suzuki Carry

The Suzuki Carry 2024 is the Japanese marque's entry to the commercial vehicle (CV) segment. It is available in various configurations and the Suzuki Carry 2024 starting price of Php 614,000 for the Cab and Chassis option. Powering this CV across the range is a 1.5-liter K15B gasoline engine capable of delivering 95 hp and 135 Nm of torque. This engine is connected to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.

Dimensions-wise, the Carry Utility Van Body (UV) and the Lineman (LV) span 4,344 mm in length and 1,765 mm in width. The Utilivan is 2,030 mm in height, while the Lineman is 2,515mm in height with its ladder rack. Meanwhile, the Carry Truck is 4,195 mm long, 1,765 mm wide, and 1,910 mm high. As for the Carry Cargo Van Body (CV), this configuration has a length of 4,237 mm, a width of 1,765 mm, and a height of 2,167 mm. The first-generation Suzuki Carry was launched in 1961. It was available under different names in several countries and was the only vehicle sold with Ford and Chevrolet badges. 

In September 2019, Suzuki Philippines Incorporated released the 11th generation of this applauded working automobile. This affordable, rear-wheel-drive commercial vehicle offers two to 14 seats depending on the variant. Its short wheelbase layout is ideal as it produces a good turning radius of 4.4 meters. Maneuvering in and out of narrow roads and challenging corners is easy as it doesn’t need to make a three-point turn.

Engine & Drivetrain

All variants of the Suzuki Carry are powered using a K158 1.5L L, four-cylinder gasoline engine. It can produce 96hp with a torque of 135 Nm.

The biggest advantage of the Suzuki Carry is its affordable pricing, while some might consider its lack of a diesel powertrain a disadvantage, unlike its rivals such as the Isuzu Traviz and Mitsubishi L300.
