The small car makes big leaps for Suzuki

Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH), has just released its sales numbers for 2020. While new to the market, the small but macho Suzuki S-Presso has become the top-three best-selling model for the company in 2020.

To put that into perspective, the affordable subcompact managed to gain 13 percent of sales within the Suzuki lineup. We can take this as a sure sign that small cars are here to stay in the local market.

The top spot of course still belongs to the seven-seater Suzuki Ertiga MPV with a 24 percent chunk of SPH’s sales. In second place is the new Suzuki Carry compact truck at 14 percent of SPH’s sales.

Overall, these three models account for 50 percent of SPH’s sales in 2020. Overall, the company managed to sell a whopping 15,515 units in 2020, marking the highest recorded market share in the company’s history. That’s despite the unfortunate occurrences last year.

With regards to this, SPH Vice President and General Manager for Automobile Division Keiichi Suzuki said that:

Currently, only the S-Presso GL 1.0 MT is available locally, and it can be had for Php 523,000. The Suzuki Ertiga on the other hand has a price range of Php 738,000 to Php 993,000. And lastly, the Suzuki Carry has a price range of Php 499,000 to Php 644,000.
