Recently, the assumed next-gen Ford Ranger Raptor was spotted being tested on public roads. The spy photos were taken after the launch of the all-new Ranger so it couldn’t be the latter. Fast forward to today, the Blue Oval company is letting us know that the new Raptor is getting even closer to its global debut next month.
In a series of photos posted by a Thai Facebook group called Next Gen Ranger 2022 Society, the next-gen pickup truck is seen with a similar camouflage design as the one in the all-new Ranger, but themed in red. One can confirm that this is indeed the next-gen model as the ‘Ranger’ character is printed on the sides.
Since the upcoming Raptor is based on the recently-launched Ranger, the truck should bear similar design cues with few differences to distinguish it from the non-Raptor version. Unfortunately, we can’t tell the differences due to the heavy camouflage covering the model.
The visible exterior details include the revamped taillights, neat wheel fenders, and C-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) reminiscent of the Ford F-150. As for the interior, the truck was heavily tinted so we can’t get a sneak peek. But in consideration of the new releases from Ford, the next-gen Raptor is expected to get a massive vertical touchscreen and updated tech.

No official specifications have been disclosed just yet on the upcoming Ranger Raptor. But based on our previous report, the truck is expected to be powered by a 3.0-liter V6 Power Stroke turbodiesel engine, making 250 horsepower and 597 Nm of torque based on the US-spec F-150. Moreover, Ford Australia will reportedly roll out a V8-powered Raptor.
Ford Philippines hasn’t put out a word regarding the next-gen Ranger, which is understandable as it could be too early for that. The company seems to be focusing its attention on the local launches of the next-gen Ranger and Everest as both models are officially on its Coming Soon model page.

The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor is a performance-oriented pickup truck. For the Philippine market, its sole variant is priced at Php 2,339,000.
Under the hood of the all-new Ranger Raptor is a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel that can make up to 207 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is then paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels.
The 2023 Ranger Raptor is 5,381mm long, 2,028mm wide, and 1,922mm in height. It then has a wheelbase length spanning 3,270mm.
Locally, the Ranger Raptor’s closest competitors are the Nissan Navara PRO-4X and the Hilux GR Sport.
