This should be good news for those with damaged or defective RFIDs.

Many motorists have complained of their radio frequency identification (RFID) stickers being unreadable at the toll gates. Easytrip Services Corporation (ESC), one of the country’s firms handling electronic toll collection on expressways, says it already has a solution.

Easytrip RFID

Easytrip says it has the solution for damaged or defective RFID stickers

The company announced that it is launching a more intensive RFID sticker and card replacement program. This is for vehicle owners who may have damaged, defective, or otherwise unreadable tags.

According to ESC, it will be issuing new Neology stickers that have a higher readability rate than the previous tags. This should improve the chances that they can be read by scanners at the toll plazas operated by Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC).

These tollways include the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), C5 Link Flyover, Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), and the Cebu-Cordova Expressway (CCLEX).

Customers who want their Easytrip RFID stickers replaced can simply head to the nearest Easytrip RFID station, searchable on Google Maps. Replacement stickers are also available at the following toll lanes:

  • NLEX Balintawak
  • NLEX Balagtas
  • NLEX Bocaue
  • NLEX Tabang
  • NLEX San Fernando
  • NLEX Tarlac
  • NLEX Tipo
  • CAVITEX Parañaque
  • CAVITEX Kawit

The new RFID sticker is just one of the initiatives being undertaken by ESC to make travel more convenient for motorists. In June 2022, the company began migrating existing Easytrip users to the new MPT DriveHub mobile app, now featuring a user-friendly interface and upgraded features.

Another is the One-stop Shop, an array of RFID stations that allow same-day processing of RFID-related concerns such as card replacements, balance transfers, and even cross-enrollment of Autosweep accounts operated by San Miguel Corporation Tollways. These facilities are located at NLEX Balintawak, NLEX Tabang, San Fernando, and CALAX Greenfield.

Motorists can apply for card replacements and get them in a matter of minutes

ESC is also rolling out the Auto-SOA service that automatically sends the customers statement of account electronically through email every first and second week of the month. The service is free of charge and contains a record of the user’s passages and transactions, making toll fee reimbursements easier.

“At Easytrip, we are continuously innovating – creating and enhancing programs for better customer experience,” said Easytrip President & General Manager Jack L. Coson. “Each initiative contributes to the big picture of meeting the evolving needs of our customers.”
