MMDA to bring back the culture of discipline in Metro Manila’s streets

The retired Philippine Army Brigadier General Danilo Lim becomes new MMDA Chairman.
What has been on the news is that President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed a familiar face – the retired Philippine Army Brigadier General Danilo Lim as Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman.

The President has appointed Lim to replace Thomas Orbos who was acting MMDA Chairman and General Manager. Orbos will retain his position as General Manager of the MMDA.

Newly appointed MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim formally assumed office Tuesday. On the day, he vowed to eradicate corruption in the agency by imposing strict discipline among its employees.

Danilo Lim vowed to eradicate corruption in the agency by imposing strict discipline among its employees

He was quoted as saying “I ask for the support and cooperation of everybody. I am not here to make anybody’s life difficult. Let us all work together for a better Metro Manila.”
 
Lim also stated that traffic rules and regulations will be strictly enforced to improve the traffic situation in the metropolis.

He further explained: “At this time, I will not be introducing any fancy traffic scheme. By going back to basics I mean strict adherence to our existing laws, practicing a culture of discipline, road courtesy, and changing the habits of the people.”
