Mitsubishi Xpander Cross 2020: What’s new?

The Xpander Cross will replace the GLS Sport as the top-of-the-line Xpander variant. It’s larger by 175 mm, wider by 150 mm and has 20 mm of ground clearance more than the regular Xpander, although the new model is 55 mm lower.

The Xpander Cross features more SUV-like styling cues like body cladding on the front, rear, and sides. It even gets a set of larger 17-inch alloy wheels. Overall, it’s like Mitsubishi turned the Xpander into a literally smaller version of the Montero Sport.

Both the Xpander and Xpander Cross share the same 1.5-liter MIVEC engine, front MacPherson strut / rear torsion beam suspension setup and electronic rack and pinion steering.

The Xpander Cross also comes with fabric seats set against a premium-looking two-tone interior with earthy brown and grey hues.

And just like the outgoing Xpander GLS Sport, the Xpander Cross offers stability control, traction control, and hill-start assist.
