Back to the teaser video, it shows us a good-looking pickup with new outer makeover. In detail, the exterior is decked with new honeycomb front grille, sleek 17-inch alloy wheels, side steps, side mirror covers, door handles as well as cladding for fenders and bumpers. Particularly, the Triton looks extremely distinctive with orange highlights and outstanding decals throughout the bodywork.

Moving inside, it’s a continuation of the black-orange scheme: black leather upholstery highlighted by orange stitching, inlays and “Athlete” embroidery. Orange accents also carry over the center console, steering wheel, storage box, door panels and gear knob too.

The Mitsubishi Triton Athlete is still powered by the familiar 2.4L MIVEC turbo diesel engine with 181 PS and 430 Nm. Additionally, it is speculated to be mated to the oil burner. It is unsure whether a 2WD or 4WD guise is offered.

The Mitsubishi Strada 2023 is a midsize, body-on-frame pickup truck currently available in the Philippine market, and locally, it's passenger non-commercial models are available in six variants. The Mitsubishi Strada's price then ranges from Php 1,320,000 to Php 1,827,000, with the Strada GLS 2.4 4x2 MT as the entry-level trim, and the Strada Athlete 2.4 4x4 AT as the top-spec variant.
Powering the all trims of the Philippine-spec Strada is a 2.4-liter turbodiesel inline-4 engine that's capable of making up to 179 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. There are two available transmissions for this truck model: a five-speed manual gearbox, and a six-speed automatic tranny. Only the Strada GLS MT and the Strada Athlete comes with a 4x4 drivetrain. The rest meanwhile, uses a 4x2 drivetrain.
Competing against the Mitsubishi Strada in the Philippines is the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Mazda BT-50, Isuzu D-Max, Nissan Navara, among others.
