Mazda CX-8 to debut in September from ₱ 1,344,901

Latest information about the Mazda CX-8 SUV has been revealed.

According to a report by Blog Livedoor, a Japanese website, the Mazda CX-8 has got overall dimensions worth 4,900 mm x 1,840 mm x 1,730 mm (L X W X H) along with 2,930 mm of wheelbase. As reported, the new SUV will be given two seating configurations: 6-seat and 7-seat.

The Japanese car manufacturer reveals that it will offer a set of 17-inch alloy wheels for the base CX-8 and 19-inch wheels for the top-end model.

Through leaked photos, we can easily see that the third row passengers are much higher than the front ones. Besides, the space in the third row seats is just enough for children. This suggests that the CX-8 may be a 5+2 compact SUV, not a three-row mid-size SUV like the Mazda CX-9.

As for the powertrain, the Mazda CX-8 is powered by a new generation 2.2 SKYACTIV-D clean diesel engine churning out 175 hp and 420 Nm of peak torque. Power is fed to the wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Mazda CX-8 will go on sale in the home market later this year

The starting price of the Mazda CX-8 will go from INR 1,748,000 (₱ 1,344,901) to INR 2,040,000 (₱ 1,569,564). Particularly, the top-of-the-line variant with 4WD will be priced at INR 2,623,000 (₱ 2,018,122).
