Hajime Koso will helm a strong Isuzu Philippines Corporation.

By the second quarter of 2022, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) will come under the helm of a new president. Succeeding current boss Hajime Koso is Noboru Murakami, a senior executive from Isuzu Motors Limited (IML). Of note, IML is the mainline Isuzu corporate arm based in Japan.

Hajime Koso served as Isuzu PH Corporation's president for seven years

It is worth mentioning that Mr. Koso has served as IPC’s president for seven years. Under his leadership, Isuzu Philippines survived the worst of COVID-19’s effects on the automotive industry.

Moreover, he also led the company in launching even more dealerships in various locations around the country. It was also under his guidance that the brand achieved its 300,000 unit sales milestone. Mr. Koso also helped continue Isuzu’s track record as the number 1 truck brand in the Philippines, which is now 22 years in the running.

Other achievements of IPC with Mr. Koso in the lead also include the establishment of a new parts hub in Metro Manila, the Isuzu Outlet Standardization initiative, and the Isuzu Medic service, among others.

Meanwhile, Murakami is an industry veteran in his own right, having held various posts around the world. He has worked with Isuzu for 25 years, with extensive experience in International Sales, Corporate Planning, and Sales Planning, among others.

In 2020, he was appointed as Additional Director of the Company for SML Isuzu, the brand’s distribution and manufacturing arm in India.

To this end, Mr. Murakami is expected to continue Mr. Koso’s work on turning the company into being more sustainable and eco-friendly. This direction is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

And of course, with Mr. Murakami’s years of experience, we can also expect IPC’s continuing dominance in the local truck market for years to come.
