Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the country, has extended its MerrygaLOW promo until January 15, 2021. The promo extension is the way for HARI to thank its valued customers throughout the year and to provide mobility at the start of the year.
With the extended MerrygaLOW promo, customers can avail of the Accent and Reina with cash discounts of up to Php 160,000 and Php 110,000, respectively. Both the Accent and Reina are good choices for first-time car buyers thanks to their practicality and efficiency.
HARI's extended MerrygaLOW promo for 2021
The Accent is Hyundai’s entry to the country’s high-selling subcompact sedan segment alongside its sibling, the Hyundai Reina. Despite competing in the same segment, the Accent is slightly larger than the Reina. However, the Reina got the upper hand in terms of ground clearance as it is 10 mm higher than the Hyundai Accent.
Both the Accent and Reina are powered by a 1.4-liter naturally aspirated engine capable of making 132 Nm of torque. The Accent can make 100 hp, while the Reina can make 94 hp. HARI is also offering the Accent with a 1.6-liter CRDi diesel engine capable of making 128 hp and 260 Nm of torque. The Accent diesel is only available in the model’s top-spec GL variants.
The 2020 Hyundai Accent
Aside from the two Hyundai subcompact sedans, HARI is also offering cash discount on other Hyundai vehicles such as Starex and Kona. The Starex is a family van that can comfortably seat up to 18 passengers, while the Kona is a subcompact crossover that comes with striking exterior look. Under the MerrygaLOW promo, the Starex and Kona are offered with Php 290,000 and Php 205,000 cash discounts, respectively.

The Hyundai Accent is the Korean marque's entry to the competitive subcompact sedan category. It is available in six variants and the Hyundai Accent 2023 Philippines price that ranges from Php 790,000 to Php 1,038,000. Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) offers this model with two engine options consisting of gasoline and diesel mills. Lower-end variants use a 1.4-liter Kappa MPI Dual CVVT gasoline engine that makes 99 hp and 132 Nm of torque, while higher-end variants are equipped with a 1.6-liter CRDi turbodiesel engine that delivers 126 hp and 260 Nm of torque. As for the transmission, the engines can be connected to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Moving to the dimensions, the Accent spans 4,440 mm in length, 1,729 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height, with a wheelbase rated at 2,600 mm. In the Philippines, this Korean sedan is competing against the likes of the Toyota Vios, Honda City, and Nissan Almera.
