Hyundai Trucks and Buses Philippines, the official distributor of Hyundai commercial vehicles in the country, is one of the most notable automotive companies to further advance the Modern Jeepney campaign in the country.
In fact, Hyundai’s Class 3 modern jeepney recently got its Certificate of Compliance (COC) from the Department of Transportation (DOTr). The Class 3 Modern Jeepney joins the Class 1 and Class 2 as the Hyundai certified Modern Jeepneys ready for service.

Now, Hyundai Trucks and Buses Philippines has turned over the first batch of 120 units of purchased HD50 Class 2 Modern Jeepney to Gardenia Kapit-Bisig in Bacoor, Cavite. Public transportation modernization is a key program of the Multi-Purpose and Transport Service Corporation.
The Hyundai HD50S Class 2 Modern Jeepney can comfortably accommodate a total of 22 seated passengers with 10 standing commuters. In terms of power, the HD50S will not have a hard time servicing passengers even if it is fully-packed thanks to its 2.9-liter Euro 4-compliant CRDi engine. The said engine is capable of generating 158 hp and 392 Nm of torque.

Commuting in Bacoor City will be more convenient
The luxury of utilizing the HD50S Class 2 Modern Jeepney is its interior features that passengers within CALABARZON would surely enjoy. The HD50S Class 2 comes with roof-mounted air conditioning, automated fare collection system (AFCS), Wi-Fi, GPS tracking, CCTV cameras, 7-inch monitor, and speed limiter.
Present in the turnover ceremony is Bacoor Mayor Hon. Lani Mercado-Revilla and LTFRB Region 4 Director Col. Renwick Rutaqio. Mayor Revilla herself did a test ride of the HD50S and said that the unit provides commuters with a cool, comfortable, and safer ride. She also noted that the turned-over units will surely help transform the city of Bacoor into a smart city.
