Geely Philippines has been showing significant growth since its relaunch in the country in September 2019. The latest achievement of the company is setting a new monthly sales record last month.
Geely Philippines had a strong sales performance in September with the Coolray
Based on its September sales report, the Chinese automaker managed to sell 1,112 units. It surpasses the previous record of 1,058 units sold, which was registered earlier in July of this year. With it, the company has also now achieved its 15,000 sales milestones in just three years.
The Geely Coolray once again topped the sales ranking as it sold 654 units last month. It has been with Geely Philippines since its relaunch in 2019, making impressive sales performance in the local subcompact crossover market since. Some of the model’s features include Active Park Assist, a 360-degree view camera, and a 177-hp three-cylinder turbocharged engine.
Geely has a 4-car lineup in the country
In the local lineup, the Coolray is joined by the Okavango, Azkarra, and Emgrand. The Emgrand is the brand’s entry into the lucrative subcompact sedan market, while the Azkarra is a 5-seater compact crossover that uses a mild-hybrid powertrain. As for the Okavango, it is a 7-seater MPV/crossover with loads of tech and features.
“Not only limited to the quantity of the dealers, but we are shifting more towards to improve the quality of the dealers to satisfy the customers even more, especially in the aftersales area,” said Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) President and CEO Yugo Kiyofuji.
“Backed up with [Geely's] global strategy, as well as what we do to cope with the customers’ needs in the Philippines, I am very much excited with what the future holds for Geely in the Philippines market,” added Kiyofuji.
The future of the automaker is looking promising
The third anniversary of the brand is truly a fruitful one with impressive sales performance in September. Last month also saw the Geely Philippines’ participation at one of the major motoring events in the country, the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), where it showcased three of its models.

The Geely Emgrand sedan is the cheapest model with a starting price of Php 753,000 for the entry-level S MT, while the most expensive Geely in the Philippines is the Geely Azkarra with a maximum price of Php 1,765,000 for the flagship Luxury 1.5 DCT. There are two crossovers in the Philippine lineup consisting of the Geely Coolray and Geely Azkarra, as well as one MPV which is the Geely Okavango.
