Ford Motor Philippines has posted a short teaser video on its social media pages. For those with a keen eye, the said video is hinting at the arrival of the next-generation Mustang.
It wasn’t confirmed outright by the teaser, but the video is showing a majestic horse strutting and galloping around excitedly. If you’re a fan of Ford’s performance pony car, then you’ll know that imagery of a galloping horse has long been associated with the model.
The post didn’t share a timeline for the next-gen Mustang’s local release as well. It did, however, come with a caption that says “soon.”
Besides that, the teaser also flashed a logo of a bucking horse which is another equine-themed symbol associated with yet another Ford model – the Bronco.
2024 Ford Mustang
So does this mean that the Mustang and Bronco will be launching together? Well, Ford PH already confirmed back in January 2024 that the off-road SUV is coming to the local market. As such, it's only a matter of time before the Blue Oval brand releases a direct confirmation for this.
So what do we know about the next-gen Ford Mustang? First off, it was initially introduced to the American market last year. It is now in its seventh generation (S650) and it directly replaces the sixth-gen model (S550) which is still sold locally.
The standard 2024 Ford Mustang’s most powerful version is the GT 500. It uses a 5.0-liter V8 Coyote engine that can generate 480 horsepower and 562 Nm of torque. The lower-spec 2.3-liter inline-4 EcoBoost version meanwhile, can produce 314 hp and 475 Nm of torque.
Will the Blue Oval launch the Bronco together with the next-gen Mustang in the Philippines?
In the USA and Europe, Ford also released the Mustang Dark Horse version that’s equipped with a unique crankshaft as well as sturdier forged piston connecting rods. It also gets a 5.0-liter V8 Coyote mill, but thanks to its upgrades, it can produce 500 horsepower and 567 Nm of torque.
With all that said, Philippine-based fans of the famous pony car have something exciting to look forward to this year. Then again, we are still in the dark in terms of variant options and launch dates so stay tuned here on Philkotse.
