The all-new diesel-powered compact SUV is bound to be a showstopper
We reported last week that Honda Philippines would launch its all-new CR-V sometime this month in our market, and that this fiftth-generation CR-V will be an all-new 7-seater SUV powered by a turbodiesel engine. Guys, we’ve been waiting for this moment all year long. Well, brace yourselves, the all-new CR-V is finally here.
There are four variants of this newest compact SUV available: three diesel options with 7 seats and a 2.0-liter gasoline 5-seater.
All 7-seater versions are equipped with a 1.6-liter i-DTEC turbodiesel engine that delivers an ouput of 118hp and a torquey 300Nm. Mated to this downsized turbdiesel engine is a brand-new 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The new motor is smooth, clean, and powerful. It touts light weight yet heavy performance.
The base gasoline version is powered with an i-VTEC engine giving 152hp and 189Nm, paired to a CVT.

All Honda showrooms nationwide will start accepting reservations for the all-new premium SUV from today. The 5-seater gasoline version is already available, while Honda will do its deliveries for the 7-seater diesel versions by the end of September.
