This makes Chery the only Chinese automaker to do so.

Chery Automobile is on a roll since the start of the year. It now becomes the first Chinese automaker to export over 200,000 vehicles annually, and we are still in the closing months of 2021. One can say that this is an impressive feat considering the pandemic situation and global chip shortages in the automotive industry.

In a sales report released by Chery, it managed to sell 739,730 vehicles for the first 10 months of 2021, translating to a 44.3-percent increase over the same period last year. To note, 212,959 of the units sold were marked for export to other markets. These numbers solidify Chery’s status as one of the top automakers in China.

Some of the notable markets where Chery has been selling well are Russia, Chile, and Brazil. In the Russian market, local people see Chery as the “people’s vehicle,” with the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro as the top sales contributor. Meanwhile, the car brand ranks fourth in terms of sales in Chile this year thanks to its best-seller, the Tiggo 2.

Models like the Chery Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 3X pave the way for the Chinese automaker to climb up the sales race in the Brazilian market.

Locally, Chery Philippines is having a fruitful year as well as it posted a year-to-date sales growth of 194-percent compared to last year. Just like in the markets above, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is the top choice among Filipino car buyers alongside the Tiggo 2 subcompact crossover.
