Caltex PH turns over three Ford Rangers to promo grand prize winners

The winners received the mid-spec Ranger Sport.

Caltex Philippines has turned over three Ford Ranger units to three lucky winners of the Pickup Your Rewards promo as the grand prizes. The turnover ceremony was held at the Caltex station in Chino Roces Avenue, Makati.

The promo - which ran from April 18 to July 17 - gave one raffle entry for every Php 500 accumulated purchase of any Caltex fuels. The grand prize winners are Netterino Torres from Pampanga, Arnold Gonzales from Batangas, and William Gaabucayan from Cagayan de Oro. 

“We want to thank Caltex for this opportunity to have our own vehicle. It feels surreal at the moment, but we’ll definitely enjoy this win and put this to good use," shared Jolo Gonzales, son and representative of Arnold Gonzales at the turnover ceremony.

The units turned over were the Sport variant

The Ford Ranger given to the grand prize winners is the Sport, the pickup truck's mid-spec variant positioned just below the top-of-the-line Wildtrak. All of which came in what appears to be the Meteor Grey paint.

Exterior-wise, the Ford Ranger Sport is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED multi-reflector headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs), and a unique Sport paint accent. Inside, the new owners will benefit from amenities such as a 10-inch vertical touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather and synthetic leather seats, a wireless charger, and a Type C in the first row.

Under the hood is a 2.0-liter single-turbo diesel capable of generating 168 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque. The 4x2 variant is raffled in the promo, which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Apart from the Ford Rangers, Caltex, marketed by Chevron Philippines, Inc., also announced the 400 minor prize winners of 250,000 Caltex Rewards points.

Ford Ranger

The 2023 Ford Ranger is a 4x4 or 4x2 pickup truck. It is the latest version of the said model, and as of its launch in the Philippine market, it has a total of eight different variants.

These are the top-spec Wildtrak 4x4, Wildtrak 4x2, Sport 4x4, Sport 4x2, XLT 4x2, XLS 4x2 AT, XLS 4x2 MT, and the entry-level XL 4x4. As of 2023, prices for these trims ranges from php 1,213,000 to Php 1,910,000.

Under the hood of the new Ranger are two-different diesel mills. For the Wildtrak 4x4, it uses a 2.0-liter biturbo that can churn out 210 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. It is also the sole trim that uses a 10-speed automatic tranny.

The rest of the all-new Ranger then gets a 2.0-liter turbodiesel that can produce up to 170 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque. Only the XLS 4x2 and the XL 4x4 may come with a six-speed manual. The other non-biturbo trims then use a six-speed automatic.

Size-wise, the all-new 2023 Ranger is 5,370mm long, 1,918mm wide, and 1,884mm in height. They also offer a wheelbase length of 3,270mm, and a ground clearance of 235mm.

Locally, the 2023 Ford Ranger faces the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi Strada, Isuzu D-Max, Mazda BT-50, etc.
