The new Toyota Corolla 2020 sedan may come with a more striking look, along with some refreshment in its interior and engine.

This month, the hatchback version of the Corolla dubbed “Toyota Auris 2018” has been introduced in the US market, hinting what to expect in the next-gen sedan variant of the Corolla. And now, car enthusiasts’ curiosity will be satisfied with a Auris hatchback-based rendering for the Toyota Corolla 2020 sedan version.

According to the rendering, the new Corolla sedan receives a lower cowl, making its bonnet look smoother. The front fascia is also added a new boot while the rear is adorned with outstanding haunches, earning the car a visual punch that hasn’t been seen on the existing Altis. Additionally, the rear comes adorned with heavy sculpt, well fitted with the polarizing front fascia highlighted by big L-shaped headlamps and large grille. All of these features create a sporty and handsome look for the all-new Toyota Corolla 2020 sedan.

Looking inside, the new Corolla will possibly get the layered dashboard style of the Auris that was inspired by the Toyota C-HR. The package can be included extra-use of piano black accents and matte silver, a longer and larger center console and a floating infotainment system. It is almost sure that the Corolla 2020 sedan will be designed with the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) which was made to provide a lower gravity’s center than before.

When it comes to the engine, the Auris is powered by a 1.2L turbo petrol mill while its Corolla hatchback counterpart is armed with a 2.0L Dynamic Force powertrain and an option of a new Direct Shift CVT with a launch gear or a 6-speed manual transmission. So it is expected that the new Toyota Corolla 2020 sedan will take over at least one of the aforementioned engine options, although a 1.8 and 2.0L Dual VVT-i mills are also possible.
