Fans got a really early look at the first electrified Corvette.

Snooping around paid off for loyal fans of the Chevrolet Corvette, as they were able to unearth the upcoming Corvette E-Ray hybrid sports car when the visualizer accidentally went live on the Chevrolet website.

Intrepid Corvette fans discovered the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray within the automaker's website

The discovery was made when members of the MidEngineCorvetteForum and Corvette Blogger online communities played around with the online Corvette configurator, revealing the 2024 model along with the electrified variant. As expected, no further information on the Corvette E-Ray has yet been made available.

Confirmed that the leak did take place, the company chose to take it in stride. “Looks like the holidays came early for a few astute Corvette fans. Stay tuned for more,” a Chevrolet spokesman said. Meanwhile, the automaker moved to take down the revealing images, but not before enterprising netizens managed to take screenshots.

Corvette E-Ray exterior colors

A total of 13 exterior colors will reportedly be available

Judging by the renders shown in the leak, the Corvette E-Ray will retain the same wide body and front end as those used by the Corvette C8 Z06, with the latter’s black trim pieces replaced by body-color equivalents. Accompanying several wheel options will be 13 reported colors for the exterior, among them three new hues: Cacti, Riptide Blue Metallic, and Sea-Wolf Gray Tri-Coat.

A new color called Artemis will be offered for the interior largely carried over from the current Corvette. However, one notable addition to the controls is a button located to the left of the center console. This appears to be a switch that allows users to engage or disengage the Corvette E-Ray’s regenerative braking system, accompanied by another button that controls the engine stop/start feature.

The rumor mill is still in overdrive regarding the Corvette E-Ray’s powertrain, with unofficial reports claiming that it will comprise a 6.2-liter V8 working with either a single- or dual-electric motor setup. Output is expected to be in the league of 650 horsepower, distributed to all corners of the car through an all-wheel drivetrain. Having no charging port in sight gives the impression that the car will not be a plug-in hybrid.

Prior to being taken down, the configurator hinted at the Corvette E-Ray being released between the second and third quarters of 2023 for the 2024 model year. We’ll have to wait until then for further details.

You’ll never know which surprises are waiting to pop up at Philkotse.com.
