It's only a matter of time before the next-gen Ranger is unleashed locally.

By now, it's no secret that the next-gen 2023 Ford Ranger is coming to the Philippine market. Even Ford Philippines’ official website has hinted as such, and so, many fans of the brand and of the Ranger itself are excited. More recently though, someone has spotted several next-gen Ranger units in the Philippines. This of course hints that its launch is indeed imminent.

Specifically, a car carrier truck carrying brand-new 2023 Ranger units was spotted by the AutoPH team as they were traveling on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) on June 29, 2022.

And as the report stated, the said car carrier was heading north. This might mean that Ford is already distributing the next-gen Ranger units to its dealerships around the country to gear up for its long-awaited debut.

Of note, the same source also noticed that among these Ranger units were three top-spec Wildtrak 4x4 trim, as well as two Wildtrak 4x2 units.

From what the AutoPH team saw, it also looks like the Wildtrak 4x4 variant in particular will be getting matrix LED headlamps, a rear sports bar, a set of gray-colored 18-inch wheels, among others.

For now, though, we still aren’t totally sure about the said truck’s powertrains, but it is expected that it will be getting the same engine options as the current Thai-market Ranger.

There’s the familiar 2.0-liter Bi-turbo diesel mill paired with a ten-speed tranny. In this configuration, the Ranger can make up to 210 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.

We wouldn’t be surprised if it is also getting the 150-horsepower or 170-horsepower 2.0-liter single turbo version, that’s then paired with a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic.

Ford Philippines also previously said that the next-gen ranger will come with a starting price of Php 1,198,000.
