Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) recently confirmed that the 2022 Avanza will be available in the country soon. Since it is regarded as an affordable 7-seater vehicle, the pricing will play a significant role in making the new model competitive in the local market.
2022 Toyota Avanza
CarGuide.PH has revealed the complete pricing of the upcoming Avanza ahead of its local launch. The Japanese MPV is said to be offered in four variants, starting from the entry-level 1.3 J M/T and going up to the flagship 1.5 G CVT. Meanwhile, TMP hasn’t put out an official word just yet as to whether the separated Veloz version will arrive on or shores or not.
Here is the list of pricing for the 2022 Toyota Avanza:
- Avanza 1.3 J M/T – Php 813,000
- Avanza 1.3 E M/T – Php 928,000
- Avanza 1.3 E CVT – Php 984,000
- Avanza 1.5 G CVT – Php 1,039,000
Looking at the variant names, we could expect the new Avanza to carry over the same engines as the outgoing model. The J and E variants will use a 1.3-liter 1NR-VE gasoline engine that makes 95 horsepower and 121 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the top-spec G variant will be powered by a 1.5-liter 2NR-VE gasoline engine good for 103 horsepower and 136 Nm of torque.
It is now underpinned by the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA)
Another takeaway from the variant names is the introduction of a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which will be available in the E and G variants. This should mean that the 4-speed automatic transmission will be discontinued, while the 5-speed manual gearbox will be retained in the range.
The 2022 Toyota Avanza will be fully unveiled locally on March 7, with reservations now open at authorized Toyota dealerships nationwide. It will be available in five colors, namely White, Dark Red Mica Metallic, Silver Metallic, Black Metallic, and Greenish Gun Metal.
