2018 Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet unveiled before Frankfurt

Totally, three Cabriolet models will be rolled out at Frankfurt.

Not only does Mercedes bring the S-Class coupe to this month’s most anticipated car event, it also gets fans excited by its refreshed convertible models.

Let’s take a sneak preview of the full 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class lineup, which is scheduled to be on sale in the middle of next year after making its premiere at 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show this September, 12.

2018 Mercedes-Benz S560 Cabriolet

Using the brand’s updated 4.0L biturbo V8 engine, the S560 can make up to 463 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Power is only fed to the rear wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. With such a great power, the S560 can do the 0-96 km/h within 4.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 209 km/h.

The S560 inherits all new exterior and interior upgrades from the coupe version. Moreover, Mercedes-Benz also gives the cabriolet the conventional Airscarf neck warmer and Aircap wind deflector to make it different from the coupe. Further, Mercedes’s Magic Body Control stability system and the latest Drive Assistance System with semi-autonomous driving are also offered.

2018 Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet

The S63 is powered by an AMG’s 603 hp/900 Nm 4.0L biturbo V8 engine, mated to an AMG Speedshift 9-speed dual-clutch gearbox. This stronger power allows the S63 to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in just 3.4 seconds before topping out at 300 km/h.

In particular, this is the only S-Class convertible model to come with all-wheel drive system. As a result, 4Matic will be standard on the car.

Like the S63 coupe, the cabriolet version also comes fitted with 20-inch alloy wheels with larger brakes, sport Airmatic suspension, performance exhaust, and AMG Track Pace app. Besides, you can opt for optional 20-inch wheels with carbon ceramic brakes.

2018 Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet

Here are the most outstanding features of the most expensive S-Class Cabriolet:

  • Equipped with biturbocharged V12 engine with 621 hp and 1000 Nm of torque, coupled with 7-speed automatic transmission
  • Whir from 0-96 km/h in 4.0 seconds (slower than the S63)
  • Come with rear-wheel drive
  • Feature all characteristics of the S63 apart from unique 20-inch wheels and slight change at the front end
