The next-generation Suzuki Swift 2018 has just made its ASEAN debut at this year's Bangkok International Motor Show. Looking at the model on display at the event, it is noticeable that there are some changes in the overall design of the 2018 Swift compared to its predecessor. To be more specific, the all-new model gets a more angular and sportier look while its interior also gets renewed, not to mention its improved powertrain for better fuel economy.

Generally, the next-gen Suzuki Swift 2018 shares the familiar appearance with its predecessor; however, the new model still looks a little bolder and sharper. Its front shows a massive hexagonal grille. The headlights earn a more upward look. Specifically, the top-spec Swift will be equipped with LED lighting and LED daytime running lamps.

Speaking of size, the new model has the length of 3840mm, the width of 1695mm and the height of 1500mm while the wheelbase measures 2450mm.
The Suzuki Swift 2018 interior is also made sporty. The hood-covering gauges are positioned over the instrument panel. The steering wheel now comes flat-bottomed. As for the Thai-spec version, it can be equipped with 2 choices that are an optional 7-inch touchscreen system or a two-DIN sound system. With the option of the touchscreen system, car owners can have the use of navigation, MirrorLink, and Apple CarPlay. Other features include 6 speakers, the leather steering wheel, keyless start and entry, auto-climate control, and cruise control. The seats are covered with fabric with a unique design. The interesting thing lies in the design of the dashboard which is made both traditionally and in a new style. The interior is fully lit up with the help of faux metal and glossy black plastic.

Suzuki used a 1.2-litre K12M DualJet 4-cylinder motor which is backed by VVT (variable valve timing) and auto stop-start in this new Swift. It doles out 83PS and 103Mn of torque. The old 4-speed automatic has been replaced with the introduction of CVT (Continuously variable transmission. Suzuki claims with this change, the Swift will consume only 1l for a 23-km driving. However, Thai buyers won’t stand a chance to have a manual transmission choice.
