Chery Auto Philippines has officially brought another model into its hybrid lineup with the launching of the Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid.
2024 Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid
The 2024 Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid is the Chinese automaker’s most affordable electrified vehicle, joining the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid and the Tiggo 8 Pro e+ in the local hybrid lineup. It is also now featuring the Pro badge, which adds aesthetic enhancements inside and out.
Exterior
With the Pro badge, the Tiggo 5X now has the brand’s signature diamond galaxy grille similar to its Pro crossover siblings. The intricate grille is flanked by LED headlights with a follow-me-home function, LED fog lights, and LED daytime running lights (DRLs).
The crossover gets the Hybrid and Pro badges
Chery integrated red accents on the front and side, with the rear getting chrome and silver trims. These add a sporty appeal to the finish. Other exterior bits include power-folding side mirrors with turn signals, a rear spoiler with high-mounted brake light, roof rails, and 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
Interior
The sporty-looking red motif continues into the interior as red stitching and accents can be found on the dashboard, door panels, and seats. Speaking of which, the cabin hosts sustainably produced faux leather seats with bucket-type front seats, with the driver getting a six-way power-adjust function.

Modern interior amenities such as an intelligent remote key, push start button, multi-color ambient lighting, an auto start/stop function, remote tailgate unlock, and an N95 cabin filter are made available. The vehicle is also equipped with a power sunroof, providing a more open-air driving experience.
Tech & Safety
A massive 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen is mounted on the dashboard, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Complementing the head unit are a 360-degree around-view monitor, six speakers, and a wireless mobile phone charger.
The latest iteration boasts new modern tech
In the safety department, the vehicle is equipped with six SRS airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), hill assist control, hill descent control, traction control, tire pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX, and an anti-theft system with an engine immobilizer. The cruise control function also gets a speed limiter function.
Engine & Powertrain
Perhaps the biggest upgrade is found under the hood as the subcompact crossover gets a 1.5-liter turbocharged hybrid engine good for a combined output of 156 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. It sends power exclusively to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with nine simulated gears.
The Tiggo 5X is now hybridized
The hybrid powertrain is completed by a 48-volt BSG (belt-driven starter generator) system. According to the automaker, the mild-hybrid setup provides lower carbon emissions by 14 percent and improves fuel efficiency by 13 percent. Chery Auto PH claims that the vehicle can deliver a fuel economy of 14.5 km/l.

The Chery Tiggo 5X Pro is a subcompact crossover. It has two variants for the local market: the Comfort and the Hybrid. These are priced at Php 940,000 and Php 1,140,000 respectively.
Size-wise, the Tiggo 5X Pro is 4,358mm long, 1,830mm wide, and 1,670mm in height. It also has a length of 2,630mm and a ground clearance of 196mm.

Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Exterior
On the outside, the Tiggo 5X Pro assumes a modern crossover shape. It gets LED headlamps with a follow-me-home function, LED daytime running lamps, LED tail lights, and LED front fog lamps.

Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Chassis
The Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid uses a MacPherson strut for the front and a multi-link suspension for its rear. The Comfort gets the same front suspension, but it uses a torsion beam for its rear instead.
Braking for the model is provided by four discs for all wheels. The top-spec variant then gets an electronic parking brake.
