Chery Auto Philippines has once again strengthened its hybrid lineup as the first batch of the Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid landed on Philippine shores.
The Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid has officially arrived in the country
The new Chery Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid will soon join the company’s hybridized lineup consisting of the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid and Tiggo 8 Pro e+ Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV). This will leave the Tiggo 2 Pro as the only model in the local lineup to continue running on purely internal combustion engine (ICE).
No official specifications have been disclosed just yet. Although, Chery Auto Philippines already previewed the Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). It arrived not only with a hybrid powertrain but also the Pro badge found in the rest of the Tiggo lineup.
Chery will soon launch the Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid
This means the Tiggo 5X Pro gets to adopt the dot-matrix galaxy-like grille that adds a premium-like appeal to the front end. At the Chery MIAS booth, the said vehicle wowed spectators with its redesigned cabin fitted with red accents, red stitching, and a sunroof.
Under the hood, the hybridized subcompact crossover is said to have replaced the traditional alternator with a belt starter generator (BSG), which generates kinetic energy when braking. The energy is stored in a 48V battery and is used to supply more power to the engine when needed.

According to the Chinese automaker, the BSG is capable of delivering an additional 10 horsepower and 40 Nm of torque. The hybrid powertrain also provides lower carbon emissions by 14 percent and improves fuel efficiency by 13 percent.
Chery Auto Philippines didn’t mention the exact launch date. But the company is suggesting Filipino car buyers don’t have to wait for a long time.
“The first batch of the Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid has already landed on Philippine shores ahead of its official launch soon. The Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid is the new addition to Chery Auto PH’s vehicle lineup,” said the company in a press release.
