All-new MINI One joins MINI PH lineup, slotted below MINI Cooper

After the TRAIN came into effect, MINI Philippines had to plan to cope with the price increase headache. According to the latest car news, an all-new model being said to be built as a "value-oriented" vehicle has been introduced by the automaker to join the local lineup. The said car is named MINI One 2018 and available in both 5-door and 3-door variants.

To compare with the Cooper which was just dethroned by the Mini One 2018 in terms of affordable price, it takes a different engine which is a 1.2L 3-cylinder powertrain. With the same TwinPower Turbo, the One is good for 180 Nm between 1,400 and 3,900 rpm and 102 HP from 4,000 to 6000 rpm. The model runs on a 6-speed automatic, which comes inferior to the Cooper. Specifically, it can rach a top speed of 195 kph while accelerate from rest to 100 kph in 10.2s.

The MINI One 2018 secures the already famed go-kart drives with rear multi-link suspension and spring strut front suspension. Other pronounced designs include the material selection and suspension’s geometry. Similar to the Cooper, the One welcomes Dynamic Stability Control, Corningering Brake control, and anti-lock brakes as well.

You may find the One bear a strong resemblance to the Cooper when it comes to the styling design but the One will look distinct with a high-glass black grille, pronounced front bumpers, and especially a flat hood. The model comes will halogen headlamps as well as 15-inch alloy wheels.

Stepping inside, the interior inspires occupants with MINI Radio system, air conditioning, LED interior lights, and orange ambient lighting. Additional options are the multi-funtion leather steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, auto LED headlamps, panoramic glass roof, dual zone climate, and partial leather seats.

The 3-door MINI One 2018 price is P2,130,000 while it costs P2,230,000 to have a 5-door variant.
