All-new 2018 BMW X3 revealed with noticeable changes

The 2018 BMW X3 mid-sized SUV has been officially unveiled with sharper look and performance.
Like the BMW 5-Series and 7-Series, the new BMW X3 rides on the CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform. Thanks to the new chassis, the new-generation X3 is now 60 mm longer, 10 mm wider and 1mm taller than its predecessor.

Along with that, the X3 also remains a high ground clearance of 204 mm which makes it more off-road capable than many other luxury SUVs in the same segment.

Overall, the 2018 BMW X3 allegedly possesses a unique design on both exterior and interior.

Let’s start outside. The more-elliptical headlamps are slightly sharper with optional LED projectors. A new strip of LED fog lights also replace the previous circular units. At the rear, the new SUV somewhat resembles the X1 and X5, except for the uniquely-shaped LED tail lights. Lastly, the athletic and sleek look is completed by redesigned wheels and a more tapered roofline.

Inside is a step up compared to the outgoing X3. Accordingly, the latest is fitted with a new floating LCD touchscreen infotainment system with the latest version of iDrive and gesture control, new M Sport steering wheel, BMW Individual headlines, aluminum trim alongside M logos throughout.

Inside is a step up compared to the outgoing X3

The Bavarian manufacturer has yet to announce any information about the powertrain of its new X3. However, it’s probably that the top-of-the-line X3 M40i will benefit from a 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine with 360 hp and 500 Nm of torque, coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, a 2.0-liter, turbocharged I4, good for 248 hp and 350 Nm of torque will drive the base X3 xDrive30i.
 

 
2018 BMW X3 - First Look!!!

According to BMW, the X3 xDrive20d, xDrive30d, xDrive20i and xDrive30i variants are also available. This November, the xDrive30i will make its world debut, whereas the sDrive20i and xDrive20i won’t be released until 2018.
