Nissan Philippines has officially launched the all-new 2024 Z sports car for the Philippine market. It is offered in two variants: the Premium MT and the Premium AT. Both are priced at Php 3.888 million.

The 2024 Nissan Z

Note that the new Nissan Z continues the brand’s legendary Z car series, which was started in 1969 by the Fairlady Z (Datsun 240Z). The modern version is the seventh-generation model, and it is set to compete against the likes of the Honda Civic Type R and the Toyota Supra.

Exterior

Starting with its looks, the all-new Nissan Z is clearly retro-inspired, but unmistakably modern. From the front, it gets an enlarged version of the original 240Z’s square-shaped grille, a long hood, and a pair of sharp-looking LED headlamps with automatic on/off and levelling.

Similar to the older car that inspired it, the all-new Z also gets a sweeping roofline that slopes down to its rear. It doesn’t get much in the way of character lines, but it has noticeably bulging fenders and shapely side sill spoilers. Its door handles are also hidden away

The rear of this all-new Nissan sportscar meanwhile, houses a subtle rear spoiler, a pair of bar-shaped LED taillights, a black-colored lower rear bumper, and a dual exhaust setup.

Other exterior features on the all-new Z include power-folding mirrors, rear fog lamps, a high-mount stop lamp, and LED daytime running lamps. Its looks are then completed by a set of 19-inch allow wheels.

Interior

Step inside the Nissan Z and one will find ample space for two occupants, as well as a decently roomy in-cabin cargo area. Many surfaces in the cabin, including its pair of electronically adjustable sports seats, use a combination of leather and synthetic suede.

Provided for the driver is a 12-inch digital gauge cluster that can be adjusted to display a variety of driver-related information. This is backed-up by three analog gauges which are mounted on top of the dashboard just above the center vents for its automatic air-conditioning system.

Likewise found inside the car are aluminum sport pedals, a push-to-start button, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a tilt and telescopic steering column, and a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters (Premium AT).

Tech & Safety

Like most modern offerings of the brand, the 2024 Nissan Z comes standard with the Nissan Intelligent Mobility driver-assistive safety suite. This includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, hill-start assist, etc.

Supporting those advanced safety features are anti-lock braking, stability control, traction control, a reverse camera, an engine immobilizer, tire pressure monitoring, a set of parking sensors, and a total of six airbags.

Handling the entertainment needs of the Nissan Z’s occupants is an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. Sound is then outputted by a Bose eight-piece speaker system.

Engine & Performance

Under the hood of the 2024 Nissan Z is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that’s capable of making up to 377 horsepower and 474 Nm of torque. Power is sent to its rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox or a nine-speed automatic transmission depending on the variant.

Ensuring optimum traction for the Z is a limited-slip differential. Stopping power is then provided by front and rear Nissan Sport ventilated disc brakes and a hand-operated manual parking brake.

For its suspensions, it uses a double-wishbone type for the front and a multi-link rear suspension. Of note, the Z also uses a carbon-fiber composite driveshaft.
