The 2020 Dzire facelift uses the new BS6 1.2-liter K-Series Petrol engine with VVT capable of generating 89 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque @ 4,400 rpm in five-speed manual or AMT options – which means that the new engine produces seven more horsepower than the previous unit.

Maruti Suzuki claims that the new engine comes with a higher compression ratio, cooled EGR system and piston cooling jet which improves efficiency. The powertrain now uses the new start-stop function and is offered with manual transmission and automatic transmission.

With the new engine in place, this increases the facelift’s fuel efficiency to 23 km/L for the Manual Transmission and 24 km/L for the Auto Gear Shift variant. There is no diesel option for the 2020 Suzuki Dzire facelift, however, which is something that Filipinos have been hoping for.
